- Compassion Fatigue
-
Compassion Fatigue is the stress of caring too much. People who work as support coordinators and caregivers are prone to it. Family members can also develop compassion fatigue. People develop compassion fatigue when they stop taking care of their own needs, so they can care for others. Symptoms include: self blame, feeling emotionally exhausted, and excessive worry. Compassion fatigue can progress, and eventually evolve into burnout, where people quit or want to quit their jobs.
